Indian Bank invites online applications for recruitment of Probationary Officers as explained below:

Pay Scale:

14500 - 25700

Qualification (as on Oct 01, 2010):

Graduation in any discipline (Second Class with 55% aggregate marks / equivalent CGPA, 50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD)

The candidates should have proficiency in appropriate computer skills / working knowledge of application packages used in office automation/ computer environment.

Age Limit: (as on July 01, 2010)

21-30 years

Application Fee:

SC/ST/PWD: Rs. 50

Others: Rs. 400

The challan for payment of fees will be made available at the Bank’s website. Before depositing the fee Candidates have to take a print out of the challan.

How to Apply:

Applications have to be submitted by the eligible candidates only 'ONLINE' i.e. through internet on Bank’s website. Any other means / mode of application including those in printed form ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. Before submitting the online application, the application fee must be paid in cash at any branch of INDIAN BANK only.

Selection Procedure:

Selection will be made on the basis of a written examination. The test comprises of Objective and Descriptive papers. It will be followed by an interview for shortlisted candidates.

Objective Test:

Duration: 135 minutes

1. Reasoning

2. Quantitative Aptitude

3. English Language

4. General Awareness

Negative marks will be awarded for wrong answer in the Objective Test.

Descriptive Paper:

Duration: 60 minutes

The paper will consist of 5 questions on socio -economic environment out of which the Candidates have to attempt any four. The candidates have the option to answer the descriptive paper also in Hindi or English. Marks obtained in descriptive paper will not be reckoned for merit ranking.
