SBI Clerk / Steno Recruitment 2012: 9500 Vacancies
State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the details of recruitment of clerks. Apply online and download the payment instruction, sample question papers, syllabus and other related details.
State Bank of India (SBI) invites application for the recruitment of 8500 clerks / assistants and 1000 stenographers in 2012. This includes the 3000 vacancies that were announced earlier for reserved category candidates and in the North East.

8500 (Gen: 3145, SC: 2069, ST: 1337, OBC: 1949)
SBI Stenographer
Posts:
1000 [Hindi = 100, English = 900] (Gen: 537, SC: 134, ST: 79, OBC: 250)
Pay Scale:
Rs. 7200-19300
SBI Recruitment 2012 - Educational Qualification (as on Dec 01, 2011):
Minimum 12th Standard (10 + 2) pass or equivalent with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ ST/ PWD/ XS)
OR
ii) A degree (Graduation level) from a recognised university
AND
Should be able to write and speak English fluently. Knowledge of local language will be an added qualification.
Age Limit: (as on Dec 01, 2011)
18 to 28 years
Application Fee:
SC/ ST / PWD / XS: Rs. 50
Gen. / OBC: (Assistant: Rs. 350, Asstt. + Steno - any language: Rs. 500, Asstt. + Steno - both languages: Rs. 650)
Selection
Selection Procedure:
The selections will be made on the basis of a Written test & Interview. The written test is Objective type & there is no descriptive test.
Syllabus and Pattern:
The written test will be of Objective type consisting of
(i) General Awareness
(ii) General English
(iii) Quantitative Aptitude
(iv) Reasoning Ability
(v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge
There will be negative marks for the wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the marks allocated to the question will be deducted in case of the answer is incorrect.
